We started from Tehran and after a short stop continued through the beautiful desert to Qom
Our drive through the desert was a treat.
We observed the dry lands in their beauty at different times of the day, and each was better than the last.
We arrived in Qom and were transferred to publinc transport designated for our group. It felt just like college days in Pakistan.
Qom is the main center for religious studies and there is even a monorail taking pilgrims to the sites.
Qom is decorated all over with devotional messages.
A cleric, well versed in many languages, guided us and informed us of history and some philosophy on the tour of the shrine of Fatima Masooma.
The entrance to the fabulour underground hall we were about to enter!
The prayer hall, not yet inaururated but we were welcomed in. It was mind boggling in the detailed artwork and talent on display.
Inlaid mirrors on all the walls make the place even brighter.
Every inch of the ceiling has inlaid ceramic decoration.
WE got a non-denominational talk about the miracle of Fatima Masooma.
